Before...
Linda's instructions were simple:
1. She wanted flowers, flowers and more flowers
2. She wanted somewhere she could sit amongst the flowers with her morning cup of coffee and,
3. She wanted a fruit tree included.
We had a-lot of fun designing this garden, and stepping slightly outside of our comfort zone with the focus on flowers. However, we enjoyed integrating a lot of natives, as well as giving her an abundance of produce in her pre established, raised garden beds. We also installed a trellis on her fence line with star-jasmine and wisteria to entangle themselves into a colourful hedge.
We custom built her own round bench with an integrated raised bed in which we planted a self-pollinating Plum tree along with some marigolds to help repel any pests.
We also custom built a worm farm with integrated work bench.
Lastly, we installed "keys" that alternate between natural river pebbles, and flower beds, as well as planted some Japanese Maples that with provide much needed shade in summer, gorgeous colour in autumn, and let the sun shine through in winter.
